Everton are prepared to challenge Leeds United for the signing of Manchester United winger, Daniel James, according to reports.
The Welshman came through the ranks with Swansea and he made his debut during the 2017/18 season. He established himself in the Swans first team during the season after in the Championship.
James soon caught the eye with his pace on the wing, and he attracted interest from Leeds United. He was set to join Marcelo Bielsa’s side in January 2019.
His £10m move fell through at the last minute and he remained at Swansea for the rest of the season. Instead, he signed for Man Utd that summer for around £15m.
James started well, but he finished his first season at Old Trafford with only four goals from 46 outings. He has also only made three appearances in the Premier League so far this campaign.
The 23-year-old was linked with a move to Leeds this summer, but a move never came to fruition. It is clear that Marcelo Bielsa is a big fan of him. The Whites are likely to move for him again should he become available.
Now Football Insider are reporting that Everton have joined the race to sign James. It is believed that the player would only want to leave Manchester United if it was a permanent move.
But with first-team opportunities hard to come by, it is looking more likely that he could soon depart Old Trafford.
