The cast of birds of a feather From left to right Linda Robson, Lesley Joseph and Pauline Quirke

Birds of a Feather sitcom stars Linda Robson and Pauline Quirke had an argument that reportedly derailed plans to bring them together for a 30th anniversary reunion show

A friend told the mail on Sunday that the friends had grown apart by 50 years

Birds Of A Feather followed the lives of two sisters who move in together after their husbands were jailed for armed robbery. The BBC1 show began in 1989 and lasted nine years

It was later revived in 2014 on ITV by its original writers and creators Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran

Insiders say there were “real and tense problems” that resulted in the 61-year-old Quirke, who played the character Sharon, refusing to attend the 30th anniversary show, which aired in 2019

The three main characters were Quirke, who played Sharon, Robson, who was Tracey, and Lesley Joseph, the neighbor Dorien Green

A friend told the Mail on Sunday: “Both Linda and Lesley were saddened that Pauline didn’t want to return to film a 30th anniversary episode”Linda and Pauline were very close, less Pauline and Lesley

“I think Pauline was annoyed with the attention Lesley received, and it was very tense and difficult to navigate at times

“Pauline was not approached about the Christmas special The atmosphere on the set had previously become difficult, there were real and tense problems” Quirke’s absence from the show was explained by an act Sharon did while on a cruise

Last year, 62-year-old Robson described her long friendship with Quirke with the words: “We were friends from the age of ten

“We were known as the real kids or the Cockney kids on the street. We were both really good friends and still work 52 years later”
