MESUT OZIL has signed a three and a half year contract for Fenerbahce from Arsenal in Turkey, according to sensational reports

The German world champion of 350000 pounds a week hasn’t played a second for the Gunners this season

Mikel Arteta left the 32-year-old playmaker out of both his Premier League and European team when he tried to force him out of the Emirates

Ozil has now entered the last six months of his contract and can speak to clubs overseas, with clubs in the MLS and Turkey both linked to the ex-Real Madrid man

Now reports from DHA in Turkey claim his arsenal misery is over after agreeing to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce

Some believed this could lead to Ozil getting back into the group when Arteta names its 25-man squads for national competitions and the Europa League later this month

Arteta had also stated that the attacker would not be offered a golden handshake to leave the club

They reportedly agreed to offer him shares in the club, but he has reportedly declined in favor of Fenerbahce

The former German national player has family roots in Turkey, although he represented the team 92 times and won the World Cup in 2014

He is also close friends with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and has been accused of approving the controversial offer of the Supremo for re-election

His wife Amine Gulse (27) is considered to be the driving force behind a possible move to Turkey

She gave birth to daughter Eda in March and is now said to be hoping to return home to raise her family

And today’s report also says that Turkish TV star Acun Ilıcalı – a close friend of the couple – helped convince him to broadcast it

None of the clubs have yet confirmed the report – although Arteta recently insisted that Ozil, who had vowed to see his contract and fight for his spot, wouldn’t get a golden handshake this month to leave

He said, “We will see what happens in the transmission window and we will evaluate in the end

“You can just try to be open with them, let them know your intentions, what role they play on the team and why”

He added: “Some want to move because they don’t play, others want to stay. We can’t decide for ourselves

“There are players who don’t play at all, they know that they won’t have a chance

“It is mentally difficult for them to maintain this motivation and positivity for many months. This is a big task”

Dr Erkut Sogut told ESPN: “We were allowed to go before 1 January not speak legally Now we’re just starting to examine the options with the numbers and details

“I cannot speak directly about the clubs as it would be unprofessional However, in general there are still six months left on the contract and it is not uncommon for us to talk to people about different options and try to find the best option for Mesut

“He could stay with Arsenal until the summer but he could leave Mesut’s priority is to stay but in football you never know things can change very quickly. Right now we’re just looking at all options for January and summer

“If we want to leave in January, I have to speak to Arsenal. If we sign for the summer, we don’t have to. That is the situation. In the next seven to ten days it will be a little clearer as the transmission window is now open and closed make things move faster ”
