Tones and I had an amazing 2020.While she would have loved to tour various music festivals and events around the world, her song’ Dance Monkey ‘was the second most streamed song on the entire planet

She followed with an EP that drew a lot of attention and was invited to major American talk shows

That is why some people were shocked to see the Australian star on the streets of Melbourne

Tones and I got her to work on Melbourne’s Bourke Street, the Gold Coast, and Byron Bay, and it looks like she’s returned to where it all started

Hundreds of people stopped by to see the singing sensation produce their epic famous ‘Dance Monkey’ as well as some of their other hits

She said of the little set, “It was so good to get back to my roots and work where it all started for me. I’m in music because I love writing & live. Busking is as real as it is it’s only possible and I’m so glad that I have to do it again for everyone who supported me “”

The show was hosted by the City of Melbourne to bring people back to the streets after the coronavirus threat subsided in Victoria

In a statement, Deputy Mayor Nicholas Reece said: “After one of the longest lockdowns in the world, it’s so exciting to see a global star perform on Bourke Street Mall

“As a former street musician who has grown to become an international star, Tones And I understands the joy of live music and how it brings people together

“We want this performance to inspire street musicians to return to our town We have waived busking fees until June 2021 because we want hundreds more street performers to activate our streets”

Tones and I aren’t the only artists who took some notes as part of the campaign, they also managed to recruit Daryl Braithwaite, Missy Higgins, Gordi, Mark Seymour, Vika and Linda, the Pierce Brothers and Hayley Mary
