Woolworths has rolled out a full recall of its own brand, 1kg bag of cooked and peeled cocktail shrimp, to all states except Queensland

The prawns are from Thailand and the Food Standards Australia recall was due to “potential microbial contamination” which “can cause disease if eaten”

The recall was originally applied to all products with a best before date of April 21 February 2021 and applied to stores in Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia, and Woolworth’s Metro stores in Victoria

This recall has been expanded to include sales to Woolworths branches in NSW, TAS and ACT https: // tco / d1Hsw3oJHm

A Woolworths spokesperson said, “Our selection of fresh shrimp is unaffected by the recall and is perfectly safe for our customers to enjoy this Christmas”

The Food Standards Australia website states: “All consumers who are concerned about their health should seek medical advice and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund”
