Environment Canada warns that the Waterloo area and southern Wellington County could get up to 10 inches of snow from Monday and Thursday in a Family Day storm and continue until Tuesday morning

Environment Canada said total expected snow piles would be between 6 and 10 inches, which could be “two laps” of a storm

The first heavy snowfall is expected to begin late Sunday or early Monday and fall by about 5 cm on Family Day in the afternoon. Closer to Lake Erie, the accumulations could be about 10 cm

Snowfall could decrease or stop on Monday afternoon, but the main heavy snow landfill is expected to begin Monday evening and continue through Tuesday morning, with 10 to 20 cm of additional snow “likely”, Environment Canada

The Meteorological Service warned that “visibility can sometimes be suddenly restricted in heavy snowfall. Surfaces such as highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots can be difficult to navigate due to accumulation of snow”

A priority for CBC is to create a website that is accessible to all Canadians, including people with visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive problems
