With the Bruins in possession of the puck and the time in the final minutes of their game Wednesday vs. The Rangers goalkeeper Tuukka Rask ran for the bench in Boston, which is often the case when a team drops out and wants to put an extra skater on the ice to improve the chances of a tie target

Bruin’s trainer Bruce Cassidy, his assistants, and at least six teammates on the bench waved desperately at Rask to get back between the pipes

“No, I honestly thought we were 2-1 down,” he said, slightly embarrassed. “That’s it. I waited for Butchy to wave me. I said,” Why the hell isn’t he “There was a minute and a half left. I decided to come. Chucky [McAvoy] said to me, ‘Buddy, it’s 2-2’ ”

Left wing Brad Marchand said he believed the Bruins were on their way to the power play he intended to pass his netminder – “he made a lot of big saves tonight” – but Rask will do his part take over on ribs

“I wasn’t panic at all,” said Rask from the moment he noticed the game was a tie and his net was empty. “Actually, I laughed more

“Hey, it’s an entertainment industry, I think hopefully [fans] made a good laugh out of it”
