A man who left a negative review for a law firm on the TrustPilot website was charged with £ 25 defamation payment000 GBP (34000 USD) condemned damage
Philip James Waymouth hired London law firm Summerfield Browne online to provide advice but was not satisfied with the service received
He then left a review accusing the firm of being “another fraud attorney” according to court documents
The number of business inquiries received has decreased since the review was published, said Summerfield Browne
Mr. Waymouth had not looked into Summerfield Browne’s appeals process prior to exiting review, according to the London High Court
He previously said he offered to remove the review in order to save the £ 200 (plus) fee he had paid VAT) but claimed the company had not responded
In the review, Mr. Waymouth claimed, “I paid upfront for a legal assessment of my case
“But what I got was just the information that I sent them, rephrased and sent back to me”
When Judge Master David Cook was looking for the company, he said it was “indisputable” that the words in the review “had a clear tendency to discourage people from dealing with the complaining company”
Other reviewers are now leaving TrustPilot reviews on the company’s site in support of Mr. Waymouth
