The furryest member of Sen Ted Cruz’s family did not join her on her vicious flight to Cancun, Mexico on Wednesday

A reporter for New York Magazine made the discovery Thursday when he was visiting Cruz’s Houston neighborhood to see if power went out on his street in punishing winter weather

The reporter saw the family’s little white dog, Snowflake, who was still in the residence – which Heidi Cruz, the senator’s wife, had said earlier this week that friends would “FREEZE”

“When asked who was looking after the dog, the security guard volunteered,” wrote the reporter, “Reassured by the dog’s welfare, I returned to my car”

A neighbor told the reporter that power was restored to the area Wednesday night after the Cruzes were in Mexico
