US. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo, responded Thursday night after a California Democrat accused her earlier in the day of having a “gun fetish” because some guns were visible on a shelf in her home during a zoom call with other lawmakers. p>

During an appearance on Fox News @ Night, Boebert called US Rep Jared Huffman snuck in, claiming his “contempt for the Constitution was fully displayed”

“Instead of having a productive debate about politics, the Democrats were too busy making fun of the Constitution and disregarding the everyday Americans I was elected for,” Boebert told Fox News’ Mike Emanuel. p>

“This was my first hearing on the committee and the chairman couldn’t stop attacking, humiliating and insulting committee members,” she continued. “I’m busy fighting the real power fetish of the left and Americans theirs to revoke constitutional rights “

Boebert also addressed a Twitter post by California Democrat Katie Porter, who wrote of Boebert’s gun ad: “I always thought my dirty dishes were stacked and bacteria build-up was the most dangerous thing in a zoom background”

“It’s alarming that she has so many dishes in her sink where bacteria can build up,” replied Boebert. “Do your dishes, Hon”

Boebert said she set up the arms exhibition in response to the House Natural Resources Committee seeking to ban firearms. She reminded Democrats on the panel that they had taken an oath to uphold the Constitution

“If anyone wants a shrine to their gun fetish as a zoom backdrop in their private life, they can,” Huffman said during the meeting. “But this is our ‘lecture room’ and at some point we will overcome the COVID epidemic , and we’ll all show up in person Our safety and our ability to conduct business civilly without feeling threatened is a relevant consideration, unfortunately, “

His “shrine” reference overturned the four-cannon display behind Boebert during a discussion on firearms in the Capitol complex during the virtual meeting.

The display appeared on a bookshelf in Boebert’s private home in Rifle, Colorado, according to a spokesman for her office

“We all took an oath to uphold and secure the Constitution, each and every one of us,” said Boebert, an outspoken supporter of the Second Amendment, when it was her turn to speak, “Our first act as members of Congress was to take our oath of office, and please allow me to remind you of part of that oath The Chairman and every other member here solemnly swore that we would support and defend the United States Constitution … The second amendment is an integral part of the United States Constitution “

When members were considering a gun ban during the committee hearings, she asked Chairman Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz, if a handful of other constitutional amendments would be violated

“How about the nineteenth amendment? Can women vote on this committee?” asked Boebert, “Why does anyone think they can pick the second amendment and say that this is the enumerated right that we can take away from the people?”

“Why stop making the second change?” She continued, “Let’s go ahead and quarter soldiers in this committee room. There are many soldiers in the Fort Pelosi parking garage in Washington, DC.”
