TAMPA – After a long winter and weeks of workouts at camp, the Yankees will be on the field for the first time this spring on Sunday New York hosts the Toronto Blue Jays at the George M Steinbrenner Field opens its list of Grapefruit League games

As we get closer to first pitch, here’s a look at both grid lines and what to expect this afternoon:

It’s no surprise that most regulars start in Pinstripe on Sunday Yankees manager Aaron Boone mentioned a few days ago that he plans to employ these positional players early and often this spring

Boone also said he is holding back Brett Gardner and Giancarlo Stanton So don’t be alarmed they won’t be playing on Sunday Gardner took flyballs during punch practice this morning, so it’s not like he’s out of order

After Michael King, here are the other pitchers who Boone says will likely take the hill against Toronto:

New York gets an early glimpse of Toronto’s dangerous phenomenal trio: Biggio, Bichette and Guerrero Although George Springer is not in the line-up, the Yankees will see Marcus Semien in a Blue Jays uniform for the first time

To prepare you for the season, here’s some related information on everything from observations at Yankees camp to the bombers’ excitement about welcoming fans back to the stadium:

We’re in Tampa! Here’s a look at the Yankees starting grid featured and moments later as the Yankees take over the field

Michael King got into trouble at the top of the first round and allowed Rowdy Tellez to double with two runs with two men. Toronto jump 2-0 lead, the Americans come to the beat

King gives up another run in his second inning of work when Cavan Biggio hits an RBI double into the gap in the center left. The right-handed pitch count is getting pretty high now, chances are he’ll make it for the day is done

King’s last line isn’t pretty. Two innings, three runs, three hits, two walks, and two hit batters, however it’s early (obviously) He can still play a big role on this team on opening day

The Yankees missed three innings Robinson Chirinos and Clint Frazier hit the ball hard but New York’s offensive has done nothing so far. The starters will likely get a bat before some reserves come into play

It’s 5-0 Blue Jay’s single just fell before Clint Frazier who couldn’t quite kick the runner out at home. Not the best outing for the bombers so far, but hey it’s spring practice

Now the Yankees are on the board After a DJ LeMahieu leadoff single, Gleyber Torres doubled the left field line Then Luke Voit hit a mistake to cross the first run of spring

Catcher Rob Brantly and outfielder Mike Tauchman hit consecutive home runs to reduce the deficit to one! Tauchman’s solo shot almost left the stadium and climbed onto the overhang of the right field line

Toronto added another run on a solo home run and the Yankees went down in the correct order in the bottom half, with the Yankees playing seven inning games earlier this spring, it will be a game on the books. p>

New York hosts the Detroit Tigers on Monday afternoon at the same time and place Gerrit Cole is slated to begin with Jameson Taillon who comes for relief
