Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page made his SNL hosting debut on Saturday and featured a sketch for Rodrigo’s hit “Drivers License.” Birthday celebrated, reacted excitedly to the sketch on Twitter

Rodrigo later shared a clip on her Instagram story telling fans that she was “going mad” because of the SNL “Drivers License” sketch

In the sketch, Page plays a game of pool with “male men” – played by SNL cast members Beck Bennett, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Alex Moffat, Kenan Thompson, and Bowen Yang – and goes to the jukebox to play his favorite song

“Drivers License” is soon to be heard and all men are slowly beginning to admit their love for Rodrigo’s heartbreaking ballad

Last month, Rodrigo spoke to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about her songwriting process and received celebrity approval from her favorite artist, Taylor Swift

“I wrote most of the song and literally cried in my living room and I think it definitely feels like that,” Rodrigo said. “I drove around my neighborhood listening to really sad songs and crying in the car I came home and said, ‘Maybe I’ll write a song about it and cry in the car’ “

“So I just sat down at my piano and picked out a few chords that I liked and it kind of happened that way,” added the star. “But it was really, really natural and organic. I really did much written in the depths of my emotions “

“The pain is definitely real in this song,” Rodrigo said of “Drivers License” “I definitely think I’m trying to get all of my music to come from a place of emotion”I think the emotional performances are the best, even if they are not technically the best sound”
