A man photographed at a desk in Nancy Pelosi’s vacant office described sneaking in and “wrote” her a nasty note “before sending a letter with the house spokesman’s name takes and goes

A photo of the Trump supporter identified as Richard Barnett, 60, of Gravette, Arkansas, by multiple media outlets, including the New York Times, quickly became one of the defining images of the storm on the U on Wednesday Capitol

Speaking to the Times, Barnett, also nicknamed Bigo, denied the theft of the envelope – “I put a quarter on your desk” – claiming he knocked on Pelosi’s door before he got in Room was pushed to other rioters

“I wrote her a nasty note and put my feet on her desk,” he told the newspaper. When the Capitol Police arrived, he told them, “I paid for it, it’s mine” before leaving. p>

5News, a CBS-affiliated television station based in Fort Smith, Arkansas, also spoke to Barnett after Wednesday’s protest

“We marched down there. They start gassing us in tears. They start ruffing our people. It upset some people,” he said. “They went to the front door and asked to be let in.”

“I wasn’t even up there at this point. I went up the steps to see what was going on. When I got to the top, they had broken through the doors and were trying to get in”

He told the news agency he was simply looking for a bathroom in the Capitol when he came across Pelosi’s office

He added, “At this point, I threw my feet on the desk, I noticed that some assholes had cut me too, and I was bleeding on their envelope, so I took the envelope and put it in my pocket and I put it a quarter on the desk because I’m not a thief “

Barnett, who may indict the federal government for participating in the protest, said he was not afraid of police prosecution

“I didn’t do anything I didn’t break the doors I was pushed in I didn’t mean to be there Hell I went around looking for a bathroom”

Regarding the death of a woman who was shot in the chest, he told 5News: “She died as a heroine, a patriot and I feel for her family that shouldn’t have happened

“We protested peacefully and we did. They started our own police started”
